How to create stunning 3D images inside high quality optical crystal?

Posted on Feb 05, 2016

To create a 3D image in a crystal, we simply need a good quality photo from you. It can be sent in various formats such as jpg, bmp, and png. Make sure that your photo is well illuminated, in a high resolution and is not blurred. Your photo may show one, two, three or more people. The process begins when you upload a standard photo through our website. Our production team then starts to process your photo using our proprietary customized image optimization software. The photo is edited, refined, enhanced with our text merge feature if selected, and calibrated for the correct crystal size. We enhance the image and apply a specialized edge-treatment procedure as well as customized masking to ensure the image is prepared properly. Then our designers use additional specialized software to convert your photo into a ready-to-laser, high-resolution 3D sculpture file. The completed file is then sent to our production equipment where the magic really starts to happen.

We use only the highest quality optical crystal glass and state of the art laser equipment to produce the final product. The photo crystal is made using a special laser that focuses its concentrated beams of light to a precise point below the surface of the crystal. Each bright point in the image is plotted in the final crystal piece. The laser then focuses a high-powered beam on each three-dimensional coordinate. Once the beam reaches the focal point, the powerful laser pulse makes a tiny void or inclusion inside the crystal. Then the laser moves to the next coordinate and makes another etched point. Finally, enough points are created to reproduce the design deep within the crystal. As laser beams are non-invasive, no marks or blemishes are left on the surface of the crystal. Our production team uses software to control the laser and create high frequency pulses of light within the crystal. The precise control through the software allows us to create a 3D image inside the crystal without leaving a mark on any surface. We take the 3D sculpture file and recreate it inside any crystal shape. The result is an amazing reproduction inside a crystal that is accurate in every detail.
